My name is Mrs. Naomi Burgess and I am 45 years old.  I am currently a second grade teacher at Carver Elementary.  This is my fourteenth year in the second grade at Carver.

I am married to Russell V. Burgess from Longville.  I have two children, five bonus children, and 14 grandchildren!  We live just north of South Beauregard School.  We attend the Longville Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry Talent.  I  have taught children as a Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and/or Youth Leader for the past 27 years or so.

I graduated  Magna Cum Laude from McNeese State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education on December 16, 2006.  I am certified to teach pre-k through 8th grade, but I love teaching the younger children!  I also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Capella University with my Masters in Education Innovation and Technology with a specialty in curriculum development in June 2019.

I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Carver!  My philosophy of education is that each child has the potential to succeed at whatever level they are at.  We are all unique and everyone should be given a chance to reach his/her potential.  There are wonderful opportunities for your child at this great school and I am here to help in any way I can to see your child succeed!
